Everybody is happy

Assalamualaikum.

It was a great Friday when we were waiting for the bus for the trip to Gombak as the Friday was a holiday in conjunction with Maulidur Rasul.

It was 26 February 2010, when 26 students from various background were happily travelling by bus that taking almost 4 hours journey to CAC IIUM Gombak. The trip was departed at 3.00 pm after Friday prayer and we safely arrived at sharp 7.00 pm.

After took our dinner at HS cafe, we first performed our jamak taqdim prayer at mosque and then proceed to CAC.

Performance from international student was marvellous. The pentomen also was a great. With music background from Percussion Club, Angklung Club, Caklempong Club and also Istana Budaya vocal team, the concert was lively with full excitement and always enjoyful.

In conjunction with the Prophet's birthday, the theme of the concert was very suitable and selawat and Rasul Seerah were being told in a very pleasant manner.

In a matter of fact, the IPAC 2010 was officially launched by IIUM President Tan Sri Datuk Seri Mohd Sidek Hassan and accompanied by The Rector Prof Datuk Seri Dr. Syed Arabi Idid.

The keystone performance in the concert is indeed from Ramli Sarip with his killer and evergreen song Bahasa Terindah. The audience shouted to welcome the former vocalist of Sweet Charity. Every student look so excited and satisfied with the concert. All of them were very happy as it was free. Hehe =)

By 11.30 pm, we depart from Gomabk and heading to Kuantan. All student smiles along the journey back to Garden of Knowledge. Wallahua'lam.

Overview of 2009/2010

السلام عليكم

Bismillahirrahmannirrahim.

1. Alhamdulillah praise be only to Allah SWT because He has given us a chance to live a new life with refreshing morning start to perform our duty in this world as His representative to lead and administer the world, thus becoming a khalifah.

2. Also, the only thank to Allah SWT that He has appoint us to be the practical leader with this job as student leader and may Allah grant us with rewards and accept our deeds as part of our ibadah (worshipping ritual).

3. Our beloved Prophet SAW has stated in one of his popular saying which is "Every each of us is a leader and every of us will be responsible for what he lead". In this hadith, it is clearly stated that human can not run from responsible as the simplest responsibility is their own life, their own body and their own destiny.

4. Being an SRC member is neither to gain popularity, nor to gain any political mileage. It is a trust, an amanah endowed by Allah SWT and by people who choose us to test either we can be one of His good servants.

5. SRC must reassess their role, principle and approach in this new era. Being an SRC for international university is not an easy task. Our behaviour must send a correct signal to the student and to the world that we are really concern on the global issue not becoming neither a national reformist nor local assobiyyah extremist.

6. As this university is naturally an Islamic environment, the SRC must strongly adhere to the Islamic code of conducts and must observe the beautifulness of Muslim akhlaq in our approach. It does not mean we are going to be coward while being attacked, or remained silence on wrongdoings and injustice practices, but we are fully concious and rationale on every single things that we are planned to do for.

7. Student Welfare is an on-going issues and it is our main concern. It is a process and indeed it is slow but it progress. There are three main area on student welfare for the time being for our concern: Accommodation, Transportation, Academic Services (WiFi coverage). Special task force committees will be set up to directly cater the issues.

8. SRC Stratefic Plan also will be planned and reframed so that the SRC is on the right direction and heading towards the right path. This strategic plan includes the mechanism to fulfill the manifestoes for each SRC and setting up the KPI for each task. The monitoring system would be implemented and the communication and delivery system would be enhanced. Thus, student would easily access the SRC and vice versa.

9. Allah SWT said in Al-Quran Surah Az-Zariyyat: 56 وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالإنْسَ إِلا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
"I have only created Jinns and men, that they may serve Me."

10. Let us pray so that Allah SWT will grant us good health and pious iman to perform our duty as soldiers of Allah in this world and give us success in the Hereafter. Ameen.
